One of my clients happen to be a spoken english institute and as far as I can see, it does good business here in Hyderabad, India. My client is savvy enough when it comes to marketing their business and don’t cringe on the huge expenses incurred on advertisements in the local newspaper -which seem to be bringing in tremendous response almost every time they place their ads.
Students come, students go. Some learn, some don’t. But then, there are a few problems here …
The client I was mentioning is in the business of education, training and development. However, there is absolutely no process here. I mean, students join whenever they want and are pushed into any batch that can accommodate a few more, they join the batch while the classes have been going on for quite some time now and neither the faculty nor the student has any clue as to why and what they are up to, respectively.
Students are taught grammar only and nothing else. If it is a goddamned spoken English class, there ought to be voices heard. Someone ought to be talking. Hello? What are we doing with an out-dated, copy-these-notes-and-shut-up system of education?
Here is how it could have been made better :
If you ever had to put up an educational institution, do pay attention. It does matter.
