That is something I have been doing off late. I had realized that there are hardly any companies ( even among very large ones!) That use technology to leverage their business and to easu some of their support functions. It is very disturbing to see that most of us learn about everything like ‘Computer Architecture’ and a lot more of those subjects but we don’t even try to see where we could possibly implement them.
Technology is like steroids. We should be using it to bring efficiency and enchance productivity. I see that we don’t email for marketing at all. I am subscribed to atleast 6-8 Indian virtual malls, but none of them send me any kind of newsletter letting me know about their latest offers.
What the hell is the matter with people here? This is a country of shop-keepers and we don’t know how to run these shops well. The entrepreneurs aren’t the types who would want to know something new. They play their games on PRICING alone. How quaint !
If price was the single factor that can determine business, an AIRTEL broadband connection won’t make logical sense to me, but I still own it. A movie at PVR cinema won’t cut the logic cake either, we still indulge. People now have money, they need some real good service. They want to be pampered. They want to be treated like a king. Like a client of mine once remarked ” Customers are not kings anymore, they are emperors and emperors are very few, so pamper them well”.
I really hate to go out there, amidst the impossible traffic infested roads and come to your shop or mall. I foresee a never ending future to online shopping and e-commerce at large. I already pay all mu utility bills online. Even my newspaper subscription fees. See where I am headed?
So will the world.
